HHS announcing a greatly expanded website, located on www.HealthCare.gov, to give small business owners an unprecedented detailed review of their health insurance plan choices, just in time for 2012. By putting in their Zip Code, this powerful new tool allows small business owners to compare the benefits and costs of health plans offered in their local area and choose those that are best for their employees.
Members are encouraged to publicize this new tool with small business owners in their districts. This tool was created under requirements contained in the Affordable Care Act.
When a small business owner goes to www.HealthCare.gov, they can click on the blue tab at the top that says “Find Insurance Options” and put in their state and choose “Small Employer/Self-Employed.” The small business owner may first wish to watch a 2-minute video, under Featured Videos on www.HealthCare.gov, named “Small Business Health Plan Finder.” The video gives the viewer tips on how best to use the small business health plan finder.
