About the Program: The NYC Small Business Resource Network (NYC SBRN) is launching a Website Program with the purpose of helping 50 businesses across the five boroughs increase their online visibility, especially in search rankings, at no cost to them. We believe it is essential for small businesses to have an online presence and easily be found by their prospective clients, and we acknowledge it is a challenge for some owners to do this on their own. We are seeking SEO Consultants who feel passionately about serving the small business community and aiding in the business recovery efforts our program has put forth. You can learn more about the NYC SBRN here: http://smallbiz.nyc

About the Position: This is a contract position beginning late June/early July and spanning the course of three months. The aim is for each SEO Consultant to interact with 4-5 new businesses per week on a rolling basis, serving a total of 50 businesses by the end of September 2021. During the program, SEO Consultant will perform an audit of the business’ current website, diagnosing problem areas as they relate to search engine optimization. Based on the findings of the audit and discussion with the business owner, the SEO Consultant will devise an SEO Action Plan, outlining and introducing steps to organically improve search rankings. This consultant works closely with the Project Manager and the Queens Chamber’s Tech Specialist.

Skill Requirements:

● A passion for helping the small business community; an understanding of how important it is for a small business to be visible online, now more than ever

● Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to use diagnostic tools to audit websites and identify areas of improvement as they relate to SEO

● Excellent written and verbal communication skills: ability to describe technical subjects in a way that is digestible to a non-technical person; ability to liaise with Project Manager to update/advise on the status of each project from start to finish

● Flexible schedule and ability to manage time, availability for pre-scheduled virtual meetings with each business owner over a two-week timespan per project

● Ability to work quickly and efficiently; capacity to complete 4 to 5 projects per week

● Knowledge of Microsoft Word, or similar, with capability of producing a guide containing actionable steps to take in order for a business website to achieve improved presence in search results

● Spanish and/or Chinese language skills are a plus!

Communication Responsibilities:

● Two 60-minute virtual meetings for each individual project

● One 30-minute full program check-in meeting per week
