The Queens Chamber of Commerce, the oldest and largest business association in the borough, is now accepting votes for its Queens’ Best Soup Competition. Members of the public are encouraged to vote for their favorite establishments serving up bowls of the winter favorite from among 20 nominated establishments at https://bit.ly/QueensBestSoupVote. Voting will end on Wednesday, February 4, National Homemade Soup Day.
 
“As voting gets underway, we’re inviting people to show their support for their favorite local soup spot,” said Tom Grech, President and CEO of the Queens Chamber of Commerce. “These restaurants are a vital part of our neighborhoods, and this contest is a chance to celebrate the comfort, culture, and creativity they bring to the table. Whether you crave a timeless classic or a bold, global flavor, cast your vote and help us name Queens’ best soup.”
 
Nominations for the contest were collected over the course of several weeks and include the following businesses:

• Four Four South Village (Prince Street, Flushing)
• Good Taste Restaurant and Catering (Linden Boulevard, Cambria Heights)
• HinoMaru Ramen (Ditmars Boulevard, Astoria)
• I Love Paraguay Restaurant (Greenpoint Avenue, Sunnyside)
• Knish Nosh (Queens Boulevard, Forest Hills)
• La Baraka (Northern Boulevard, Little Neck)
• Monahan & Fitzgerald (41st Avenue, Bayside)
• My Black Thai (Northern Boulevard, Jackson Heights)
• Nana's Kitchen New York (31st Avenue, East Elmhurst)
• Nippon Cha (Bell Boulevard, Bayside)
• O'Neill's (53rd Drive, Maspeth)
• Panorama Restaurant and Hall (Astoria Boulevard, East Elmhurst)
• Parksanbal (1626nd Street, Flushing)
• Peppa’s Jerk Chicken Restaurant (Rockaway Boulevard, Jamaica)
• Viña del Mar (146th Street, Jamaica)

 
Some of the nominated restaurants are known for their signature soups, including White Bean Chicken Chili from 5 Burro Cafe, Soup Joumou at Good Taste Restaurant and Catering, Vori-Vori Soup at I Love Paraguay Restaurant, French Onion Soup at La Baraka, Onion Soup Au Gratin at Monahan & Fitzgerald, Tom Ka Soup at My Black Tie, and Encebollado at Panorama Restaurant and Hall.
 
Pending availability, the winner will be crowned with the title of Queens’ Best Soup at an event on Wednesday, February 11. The winning establishment will receive bragging rights, along with a complimentary membership to the Queens Chamber of Commerce. The second and third place winners will receive certificates.
 
This is the 13th “Best of Queens” food competition. Prior contests settled debates over the borough’s best pizza, burgers, halal, empanadas, barbecue, tacos, frozen desserts, bagels, pad thai, tavern, bakery, and deli.

The Queens Chamber of Commerce, has announced the next “Best Of Queens” competition, looking for the borough’s best soup. Members of the public are encouraged to nominate and vote for their favorite restaurants from across the borough serving up bowls of the winter favorite.
 
“We know Queens is home to some truly comforting and creative culinary talent, and this competition is the perfect way to show our local restaurants how much we appreciate them,” said Tom Grech, President and CEO of the Queens Chamber of Commerce. “From rich broths simmered for hours to bold, globally inspired flavors, we’re on a mission to find the very best soup in the borough. May the most delicious bowl rise to the top.”
 
The Chamber is accepting nominations from the public beginning on Friday, January 9 at https://bit.ly/QueensBestSoup. They will close on Monday, January 19. Public voting will start on Monday, January 26 and culminate on National Homemade Soup Day on Wednesday, February 4.
