Queens Chamber of Commerce Announces Inaugural Queens' Best Empanada Competition

The Queens Chamber of Commerce, the oldest and largest business association in Queens, will hold the inaugural Queens’ Best Empanada Competition throughout April and May. Members of the public are encouraged to nominate and vote for their favorite eatery, to settle the debate over who in Queens serves up the most delicious doughy pastries.
 
“Small businesses, particularly restaurants, help us showcase the unique diversity of Queens through food and flavor,” said Tom Grech, President and CEO of the Queens Chamber of Commerce. “Queens undoubtedly has some of the best Latin American cuisine in the world, with various eateries throughout the borough serving up the delicious stuffed treats. The Chamber is excited to crown the inaugural winner of the Queens’ Best Empanada Competition. I look forward to visiting the winning restaurant, and trying some of their offerings.”
 
The Chamber is accepting nominations from the public at http://tinyurl.com/queensempanada. Nominations open on Saturday, April 8, in honor of National Empanada Day, and will close on Sunday, April 30. Public voting will start on Thursday, May 4 and run through Sunday, May 14.
 
The winner will be crowned with the Queens’ Best Empanada title on Monday, May 22. The winning eatery will receive bragging rights, along with a complimentary membership to the Queens Chamber of Commerce.
