The Queens Chamber of Commerce is proud to launch its first Student Membership cohort through the new Workforce Readiness Program, an initiative created to connect college students with meaningful opportunities in the Queens business community.
This student membership is designed to help emerging talent build networks, gain practical skills, and take an active role in the Queens economy in ways that support their goals and future careers.
Supported by Hydro Québec as part of the Champlain Hudson Power Express project, this pilot cohort at CUNY Queens College gives students access to workshops, panel discussions, resource fairs, networking mixers, and industry site visits led by local professionals and business leaders.
Students who complete the program earn a Queens Chamber Workforce Readiness Endorsement, a credential they can include on their résumé to demonstrate career preparation and community engagement. The most dedicated participants will also be sponsored for additional mentorship and internship opportunities with Chamber partners.
If you are a student at Queens College and interested in signing up, fill out an intake form here.

Andy NgoulouImpact Program CoordinatorAndy Ngoulou is an Impact Program Coordinator at the Queens Chamber of Commerce, where she works to strengthen economic opportunity by connecting students, small businesses, and community partners across the borough. With a deep commitment to community empowerment, she has built her career on the belief that access, connection, and representation can open doors for individuals and help entire neighborhoods thrive.
In her role at the Chamber, she develops and leads initiatives that prepare young adults for the workforce and support local merchants in navigating resources and building long‑term stability. She oversees programs that bring together industry leaders, city agencies, and emerging talent, ensuring that Queens remains a center for innovation, sustainability, and economic mobility. One of her signature projects is the Student Workforce Readiness Program, created in partnership with Hydro Québec and Queens College, which introduces students to the rapidly growing green energy sector and the wide range of career pathways within it. Outside of work, she enjoys cooking, exploring live jazz throughout the city, and attending ballet performances. She is passionate about supporting the next generation of leaders and encourages students and early‑career professionals to embrace their strengths, stay curious, and seek guidance when they need it. She believes that where you come from and the communities that shape you can be powerful assets, and that these experiences often become the foundation for meaningful leadership. |
Daniel GonzalezOutreach SpecialistDaniel joined the Queens Chamber of Commerce in 2024 as part of the Outreach Team. His primary goal is to develop relationships with local businesses to provide them with crucial information and resources from the Chamber and the City/State government. He accomplishes this through in-person visitation to build trust with the business owners and have a deeper understanding of their biggest challenges, followed by connecting them to the appropriate tools and organizations.
As of 2025, Daniel is also co-heading the Chamber's new Student Workforce Readiness Program, sponsored by Hydro-Quebec, using his recent college experience to understand what a student looks for when building the foundation for their future. He has coordinated events with Queens College administration to have professionals from the Energy Industry- including organizations like NYPA- visit the campus, speak to the students about their career journey, and offer advice to bright minds looking to build a stable career in energy. Prior to working with the Chamber, Daniel studied at Duke University and received a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. Being a Queens native, he wanted to find a position in which he could give back to the community that raised him. In his free time, he enjoys weightlifting and tries to see a movie in theaters once a week. |
