Join us for an evening of art and music hosted by CWNY.  
 

‣    Sip your favorite cocktail during this virtual cultural event while enjoying the musical performance by the violinist, Erica Quach and conversation with the artist, Argie Moutafis-Agelarakis. 
‣    Two original artworks will be auctioned. 
‣    Fifty-nine original artworks for sale in a variety of media (watercolor, oil, and mixed media)
‣    A 10% discount will be offered for art sold at kick-off, only. 
‣    30% of the proceeds of the artwork will graciously be donated to CWNY to support services for women.

ABOUT CWNY: Center for the Women of New York advocates for women's rights and full equality for women. CWNY empowers women to reach their full potential by providing the skills, information, & support they need to address economic, emotional, and legal challenges.  This fundraiser will directly allow CWNY to train, educate & support women in transition by providing computer training, career counseling, legal assistance & support groups to assist women to prosper in the workforce.    ABOUT THE ARTIST:  Argie Agelarakis, a Greek-American artist working in NY & Greece, earned her BFA at The School of Visual Arts, her MA at Adelphi University, & is a Part-Time Faculty member at both universities. Drawing from her experience as a published illustrator in archaeology, she teaches courses in scientifi c illustration, food-culture-&-art, ethnobotany, the benefi ts of art therapy, art as social justice/activism, & the relationship of art & science. Her paintings, abstract or surreal, are infl uenced by her technical illustrations, yet break free from them, fi nding beauty in the purest forms in our natural environment, aiming to convey a rhythm or harmony of color, form, & composition.    
ABOUT THE PERFORMING ARTIST:   Erica Quach was introduced to the violin at the age of fi ve. She joined the NY Young Musicians' Ensemble, where she had the opportunity to travel to Greece to play at numerous concert halls. She attended Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School and Hamilton College, where she joined the orchestra & quartet ensemble, appropriately named, 
“Hamstrings”. After graduating from Hamilton College in 2016, she taught both private and group violin classes at Real Brave Music School in Queens. A few months later, she moved to Chongqing, China to work at Musical Music & Art, where she was a violin instructor,  an English-Chinese interpreter, & an education program coordinator. Erica is a program offi cer at the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations & is currently based in Queens, NY.
